Domain registrationISNIC - Internet á Íslandi hf. manages the registry for the .is country-code top-level domain according to the priciples specified in the registration rules of .is domains. The purpose of these rules is to ensure the security, efficiency and transparency of the domain delegation and registration processes. The registration of a domain confers rights to the use of the domain name according to ISNIC rules at any time but does not confer ownership of the domain. A domain's registration certificate can be displayed by typing the domain in the WHOIS field (top right corner). The domain's NIC-handles are used to log in and modify the domain's registration information. New users must first optain a NIC-handle -- Contacts->Register to the left, and then log on to register a new domain via Domains->Register. |
