ICANN's DNS 101 training webinar

On Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 we invite you to join a webinar introduction to the Domain Name System (DNS), organized and conducted by ICANN. The webinar will start at noon UTC and last for one hour.

ICANN’s Technical Engagement Manager David Huberman will deliver a one-hour training session to provide an overview of how DNS works and how different DNS components interact with each other. Training will cover following topics:

• A Brief History of DNS

• The Name Space, Delegation, Zones

• Components for the DNS: Authoritative Servers, Resolvers (Stub & Recursives)

• Root Server System 101

• DNS Data: Zone Files, RR Types, Glue

• DNS Security Overview

Registration is open until 8 September 2021. Network engineers, policy makers and everyone else with a general interest in the DNS are invited. Although this is an outreach effort to reach Internet community members from the Nordic region, stakeholders from other regions are also welcome to join.
